FAQ

  • 1. What kind of loudspeakers do you recommend?

There are many criteria to consider when choosing loudspeakers. Most of the time these tend to be based on limitations set by your room, but obviously budget and personal taste have a large impact too. What you don't need to worry about is our amplifiers - they will work with just about any loudspeaker you can imagine - just make sure you don't over-drive smaller, low powered loudspeakers.

  • 2. Do you recommend the use of Power Conditioners?

Assuming your domestic power supply meets generally accepted standards, there is absolutely no need for a power conditioner. We design our units with well specified filtering systems that will remove any minor disturbances.

  • 3. Which are the best kind of cables to use?

People having varying opinions regarding the effect of cabling on the sound quality of a system. Our stance is that cables DO make a difference. However, much like loudspeakers, you should make your decision based on your personal preference.

  • 4 .Why do you not use XLR (Balanced) connections?

Whilst Balanced connections have a valid use in Professional (e.g. Theatre and Stage) applications where long cable runs and a noisy electrical environment exists, there is no benefit to use in the typical Domestic application, in fact the added complication of almost doubling the component count and uncertainties involved in getting both sides of the circuit to work perfectly in harmony with each other makes it more likely that implementing a balanced architecture will have a negative effect on the sound.
